<h1 class="ql-align-center">Districts as Export Hub (DEH)’ initiative</h1> CONTEXT: One District One Product (ODOP) initiative operationally merged with ‘Districts as Export Hub (DEH)’ initiative.&nbsp; <h3 class="ql-align-justify">About</h3><ul><li class="ql-align-justify">‘Districts as Export Hub (DEH)’ initiative is an initiative of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Under the initiative, products and services (including GI products, agricultural clusters, toy clusters etc.) with export potential have been identified in all districts.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Districts' Export Action Plans are being prepared for identified products and services for overseas markets.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">The Scheme will be part of the new Foreign Trade Policy(FTP).</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Under the scheme, District Export Promotion Committees(DEPCs) have been constituted in most of the districts and products and services with export potential have been identified in each district.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Aim: To help producers across 200 districts scale up manufacturing and find foreign buyers for their goods.</li></ul> <h3 class="ql-align-justify">One District, One Product</h3><ul><li class="ql-align-justify">The ODOP initiative is aimed at manifesting the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to foster balanced regional development across all districts of the country.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">ODOP is an approach adopted under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">The idea is to select, brand, and promote One Product from each District of the country</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Nodal Ministry : Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI).</li></ul> &nbsp;<h1 class="ql-align-center">PRELIMS NOTES:<a href="https://www.sunyaias.com/subscription-details/prelims-2023-sunya-notes-current-affairs" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 102, 204);">CLICK HERE</a></h1>
